...about parenting chronic illness with Stacey Simms Karina talks too much

Here are a few of Stacey’s top tips:

  • Don’t change the way you live.

    • It can be really overwhelming at first and you may think that there is no way I”m going to be able to keep up with this new world, but you will. It may not be exactly like it was before, but it will get better.

  • Seek out support & build community.

    • Odds are your . new lifestyle comes with some specific oddities and tribulations. By connecting with those in your same season of life, raising a child with a chronic condition, you are able to lean on their knowledge base, supports and resources. Find your people and love them hard!

  • Routine requires no rewards.

    • Be aware of the way you communicate and implement your daily routines to manage your child condition. You definitely don’t want to reward for daily nuances as you want to teach your child this is important for their health and success growing up. Stacey has a great advice in this episode when she is talk ing about measuring blood sugar levels, be sure not to miss it!

If listening to podcasts are not your thing, be sure to check out my post on raising children with autoimmune conditions and how I manage to stay sane. It’s found here if you want to check it out and be sure to follow me (and Stacey!) around on all the things.
