Three Healthy Living Tips I Swear By!

See this content in the original post

I'm a firm believer in the ideal, when you know better, you do better.

This rings especially true when it comes to home economics and clean eating systems.

No one wakes up one day a gourmet chef, but after rather a long run of trial and errors, they can rock a bernaise like nobody's business.

You can achieve the results you are after, it just takes a different approach, or a new mindset, or a bestie encouraging you along the way!

When first tackling a lifestyle change, such as a vegan or gluten free diet, it can be a daunting task that debilitates you before you even get that can of chickpea's open.

Being successful in a lifestyle change takes consistent effort, support from those either living with you or are in your daily life, and a crystal clear reason why you want to make the change.

Below are my top three ways to make clean eating manageable for any budget or taste profile.

But before you dive in to my three tips, I want you to know you totally don't have to be in this alone. If the tips below don't speak to your process or you'd like to have a more personal experience adjusting to your new lifestyle, please reach out. I'm a professional who works with all levels of health reform, guiding you to a holistic lifestyle through nutrition. Menu Planning

  • Make a menu, shop for the menu and STICK to the menu. This one simple tactic will save you time, money and sanity-I swear! I take one day each week (usually Sundays) where I meal prep for the week ahead. Sometimes that means making a bunch of chicken breast in the slow-cooker, browning meat for weeknight meals, or making double batches of soups, stews or casseroles for the freezer. This simple practice is not always easy to start implementing, but once you start seeing the rewards of a stocked freezer, it will all make it easier to stick to. Pinky swear.

BFF Bake Day

  • This is one of my favourite ways to stay healthy-drag your besties into this life with you! Go shop the ingredients for your favourite meals, split the bill and head home to make some big batch meals, desserts, cookies, cakes-whatever you and your besties tastebuds desire!

All Hands on Deck

  • Don't let any spare set of hands go to waste on a cook day! Involve the kids, friends, extended family, heck we have even had the neighbour kids help out! All little Chef's have to start somewhere, so get your kids doing safe prep like dishes, peeling, some chopping or grating to ease your workload and encourage food knowledge and ownership with them.
